Dearest Warrior Community
Like all of you, we’ve been closely monitoring the developments relating to the spread of Coronavirus. Its pace of acceleration, with the confusion and uncertainty it has created, has made and continues to make informed decisions almost impossible.
With such uncertainty, and with the Government’s anticipated ban on mass events, we’re now working hard on contingency plans to hold the Great Northern Mud Run on a later date which is both safe and convenient to do so.
While this would be a last resort, we’re preparing for the worst whilst hoping for the best.
In the light of an event postponement, all current entrants will be offered a free deferral into a future event or the option to freely transfer their entry to another person.
Any decisions we do make will not be made lightly. The most important thing right now is the health and well-being of our communities.
The challenges we now face are unprecedented. But if we can replicate the sense of solidarity and community which we witness each year at our events, I have no doubt, that whatever lies ahead, we shall overcome.
Like we do out on course, let’s keep an eye out for each other. Let’s listen to the experts, not the hype. Let’s stay calm, stay safe and stay positive. What we can achieve together far outweighs what we can achieve alone.
Be it this June or further down the line, you WILL cross that finish line, and that finisher’s beer will taste all the more sweeter.
We’ll be in touch as soon as we know more.
All the best
The Chief
